National Driver Training Level 1 Practice Test

The priority according to traffic laws is to follow traffic signals and signs. Traffic signals and signs provide essential information and guidelines that help maintain order on the road, ensuring the safety of all road users—drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians alike. By adhering to these signals, drivers can anticipate the actions of others and respond appropriately, reducing the likelihood of accidents.

Traffic signals, such as stop lights, indicate when it is safe to proceed or when a driver must stop, while road signs convey vital information regarding speed limits, warnings about potential hazards, and directional guidance. Following these rules creates a predictable driving environment where everyone can operate their vehicle safely.

The other options present behaviors that compromise safety and violate traffic regulations. Speeding endangers both the driver and others by reducing reaction time and increasing the severity of accidents. Ignoring lane signals disrupts traffic flow and can lead to collisions. Additionally, using a mobile device while driving distracts the driver, which is a significant factor in many traffic accidents. Prioritizing traffic signals and signs is essential for safe and responsible driving.
